Social Reconciliation Center of the University of Jaffna was established in 2022 with the vision of creating a harmony and understanding among different ethnic groups in the university community and being the centers for promoting reconciliation among local communities. What do we do?

With the mandate to be the centers governing the activities related to social reconciliation, we organize various programmes and conduct trainings and workshops, to achieve our goals within and outside the university

The management committee of the SRC comprised of a director, 2 senate nominees, 2 outside experts, an academic staff and 2 student representatives from each faculty.

FAQs

SRC; Social Reconciliation Center, is the entity created to promote social cohesion among university community. The SRC was created in 2022 as pee the policy document created by the standing committee for reconciliation at the UGC. 

SRC consists of one faculty coordinator and two students representing each faculty. There are two academic staff nominated by the Senate. among the staff, a Director is appointed. There are two members from outside the university with the reputation os working in the filed on social reconciliation. 

The SRC openly call for a few programmes and often they recruit students through the faculty coordinator. Look out the notices in the notice boards, Facebook or other social media platforms for your student groups. 

SRC will seek partnership through the approved channels and open advertisements.
